14 Mar 2007 - Changes to Heritage Shoots
At the County AGM the County Committee proposed that a lady recurve archer with a handicap of 50 or lower a man recurve archer with a handicap of 44 or lower along with a lady compound with a handicap of 42 or lower and a man compound archer with a handicap of 37 or lower if competing in the National at a heritage shoot will NOT be awarded with a medal.
This is to encourage members to shoot at the longer distances.
The handicaps have been worked out using the GNAS handicap tables and they correspond to a 1st class York/Hereford.
This was carried with an ammendment that the handicap from the begining of the season is used and therefore allows archers to compete all of the heritage's (allows you to shoot for the overall trophies).
Any archer achiving above the scores (or handicap equivilent) metioned below last season should think about entering the Long National rounds (you can enter the National rounds but will not recive an medal if you are placed)
Lady recurve archer with a handicap of 50 = 436 National
Gent recurve archer with a handicap of 44 = 500 National
Lady compound with a handicap of 42 = 518 National
Gent compound archer with a handicap of 37 = 555 National
Hope this helps any one having trouble understanding the handicap and what that relate to as a score.
For this rule Handicaps are worked out on you 3 best shoots of last season (not necessary the same type of round).
